John Orr

Senior Vice President, Ascent Capital Group, Inc.

John Orr serves as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for Ascent Capital Group, Inc., formerly Ascent Media Corporation. Prior to joining Ascent, John held a number of positions at Liberty Media Corporation, most recently Vice President of Investor Relations. Prior to joining Liberty Media in 1999, John was the Vice President of Investments of TCI Ventures Group, TCI's technology business development unit. Before joining TCI Ventures, John was with The Quaker Oats Company in its Business Development and Treasury groups.

John has served on numerous Boards of Directors including those of TruePosition, Inc., a wireless location company in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, and Zoombak LLC, a location-based services company in New York, Grupo Portatel, S.A., a wireless telephony company in Merida, Mexico and E! Networks, the Los Angeles based producer and world-wide distributor of entertainment news and lifestyle-related programming. John also served on the advisory board of IQNavigator, an e-workforce management company in Denver.

John is the ex-officio Chairman of Sewall Child Development Center, Inc., a $3 million non-profit organization serving developmentally disabled and financially disadvantaged children in the Denver Metropolitan area. John currently serves on the Quality Committee of The Children's Hospital in Aurora, Colorado and the development board of Colorado Uplift, a charitable organization that mentors inner-city youth to empower them to become leaders and productive citizens through long-term, relational support.

John received his MBA in Finance from The Wharton School and a BA in Economics from the University of Colorado.
